Forget Porsches, Mercedes and Cadillacs. Hollywood celebs are ditching high-end bling mobiles for the eco-chic Toyota Prius, $37,400.

So what's the fuss? Well, for starters, the Prius is a hybrid – has a normal engine plus an electric one and automatically switches between the two to save petrol.

It is the #1 eco-friendly car in Australia at the moment and only releases 106g of carbon dioxide per kilometre (e.g. the average car releases around 200g); plus a mere 4.4 litres of petrol will get you about 100km (about the same as a scooter!) So a full tank could get you up to 1000km! We love it as much as the celebs do!
